This is a report of case about hemimandibulectomy and surgical reconstruction with long metal plate and immediate rib bone graft of plexiform ameloblastoma, in the right mandibular body and angle region of 21-year-old female patient.
She visited to our OMF-S dept. with chief complaint of facial asymmetry due to pain-less swelling on Rt. mn body and angle region and halitosis.
After some investigations, we had an operation of hemimandibulectomy with immed iate rib bone graft and long metal plate application.
The results are as follows ;
1. The bony expansion from Rt. mandible body and angle region and distal migration of Rt. 3rd mlar can be seen.
2. Rt. mandibular 2nd molar was unerupted, and *43, 44, 45, 46 tooth were no response to EPT. And *47 unerupted gingival site was slightly necrotized and inflammed.
3. If necessary, radical excision and immediate reconstruction was considered as prefer-red treatment method in ameloblastoma.
4. After operation, there are still masticatory and speech problems, but there are improvements in esthetic problem, intraoral halitosis, and pt´s psychogenic problems.
